Current positions held include:
St. John Fisher College; Executive Intern
Last fall, Fisher introduced a brand new initiative to bring motivated students into the executive office of the College. Seeing my high involvement and passion for Fisher, I decided it was only appropriate to compete for the position. Today, I am the executive intern for the marketing and communications department and I’m absolutely loving it.
Though still a new program to Fisher, we have established the following four goals for the program, and my daily activities usually coincide with one of these four goals:
|1.||Gain an understanding of the inner workings of the marketing department, its relationship with local agencies, and its role in the College as a whole.|
|2.||Further develop as a professional writer in several contexts, including brochure and website copy, press releases, and media alerts.|
|3.||Create a social media content calendar and research potential uses for additional social media platforms.|
|4.||Further develop as a photographer and videographer, using these skills at multiple campus events.|
OSC, Inc.; Digital Marketing & Communications Intern
In May of 2016, I began a full-time summer internship at OSC, Inc. in Buffalo, NY. Throughout last summer, I worked on a wide variety of projects, but some of the core weekly activities involved:
- Designing brochures, folders, and users’ manuals for company machines
- Assisting in web design and upkeep of company websites ( http://www.oscinc.com; http://www.oscequipment.com; http://www.greenmachineco.com )
- Creating and sending weekly email blasts on behalf of the company
Fortunately, since much of this work can be done digitally, I have been able to continue working for OSC remotely while I am away at school. This required me to optimize my communication skills to ensure that I am constantly on the same page as the rest of the company, even if I am not physically present.
